Escalate support tickets from Slack to Jira — without retyping

When support escalates to engineering, the context usually gets retyped — the customer's message, the repro steps, the screenshot — into a Jira ticket nobody in the channel can see. Threadmaker keeps the handoff in one place: forward the customer's message straight onto the ticket, and every engineering reply flows back into the Slack thread, so the diagnostic trail builds itself.

What a support escalation looks like with Threadmaker

Your support team escalates to engineering in #escalations, paired to a Jira CS or Service Management project. An agent files the ticket with /jira-create — on a standard project it files an issue, and on a Service Management desk it can raise a customer request in the right request type (with the app as reporter), depending on the desk's agent configuration — and a Slack thread spawns for it. When a message elsewhere in the mapped channel belongs on the issue, an agent right-clicks it and picks Send to Jira; it lands as a comment on a ticket in that channel's project, and a "↪ Forwarded from #channel" copy drops into the thread so everyone following along sees it too. Engineering replies in-thread; each reply becomes a Jira comment, Jira comments come back as Slack messages, and attachments sync as real files. The ticket grows a complete diagnostic log without anyone retyping context — so whoever picks up the escalation has the full history already attached.

How to set it up

  1. Install Threadmaker and connect it to your Jira — see the setup guide.
  2. Pair your escalation channel to its project: /jira-map CS.
  3. Escalate with /jira-create, or forward an existing message with Send to Jira.
