Run incidents in Slack with a live Jira anchor
During an incident, the war room is a Slack channel — but the system of record is a Jira ticket, and keeping the two in step by hand is exactly what no one has time for. Threadmaker makes the incident thread and the ticket the same conversation: the anchor message tracks status, assignee, and priority live, and when it's over, the thread is your postmortem.

What incident response looks like with Threadmaker
An incident opens a Jira INC ticket and your team jumps into
#incidents, paired to INC. Everyone sees the anchor message at the
top of the thread — current status, assignee, priority, summary — and as the
ticket moves Investigating → Mitigating → Resolved, the anchor
re-renders in place, so no one has to post "still mitigating?" updates. The
response happens in the thread; every message syncs onto the ticket as a comment,
screenshots and all, and @mentions reach the right people on both sides. After
the incident you don't reconstruct a timeline — the thread is the
postmortem, and Jira holds the durable copy with a 90-day sync audit log of
exactly what happened, when.
How to set it up
- Install Threadmaker and connect it to your Jira — see the setup guide.
- Pair your incident channel to its project:
/jira-map INC. - Open the ticket; the war-room thread and its live anchor appear automatically.
The features that carry an incident
- A live anchor — Type, Status, Priority, Summary, and Assignee re-render in the thread the moment they change in Jira. Live status →
- One thread per ticket — the whole response lands in one place that becomes the postmortem. How the sync works →
- Two-way comments with inline screenshots — the diagnostic detail is on the ticket, not lost in scrollback. Attachments →
- @-mentions across the boundary — page the right owner on either side. Mentions →
- A 90-day sync audit log — the durable timeline for the
retro.
